Q: |
What is the CETC TEIL
International TESOL course? |
|
A: |
This program has been designed by Global TESOL
authorities to license qualified teachers to teach International English
worldwide. Certification applies to teachers from English speaking
countries as well as from countries where English is not a mother
tongue. Unfortunately, today due to the growing demand in English
teachers most of the unqualified teachers are being hired and this
damages the reputation and true value of real professional TESOL
education system. To avoid this precedent, TIELC together with International TESOL is issuing Certificates and
Licenses to teach English as proof of qualification and experience while
being recognized worldwide. In order to obtain the license, teachers
must take the CETC (Certificate English Training Course) accredited by
the International TESOL. As the result of this training, teachers will pass the final
teacher test and receive
“Certificate of a Teacher of English as an International
Language”
“License of Advance Standing for Teachers of
International English”
“License to Teach International English”.
The Certificate and License prove that the holder meets
internationally acceptable English teacher standards and with no risk
can be hired by any school, college, university to teach EFL, ESL, ESOL,
EIL worldwide. The certification distinguishes the holder from other
colleagues with an internationally acknowledged qualification in
teaching English. In near future most of the countries in need of
qualified TEFL, TEIL, TESOL, TESL teachers will reconsider their
criteria of hiring professionals and the license will be the milestone
for choosing the best. Currently such countries as Canada, USA, China,
Japan, S. Korea, most of Middle East and European countries are
reconsidering their English teachers hiring policies to meet the
Internationally set standards. In addition, TIELC has authority to grant
“Certificate of Good Standing” to institutions thus allowing them to
enter a database of Internationally recognized schools where English
teaching quality matches International TESOL/CELTA standards.
The course is divided into three categories depending on
credentials the teacher wishes to obtain. However, trainees for only
100- and 60-hour courses can acquire both certificate and license.
Licensed teachers have full recognition to work in any country of the
world where they are hired as English teachers.
The candidates are required to take optionally 100-, 60-
and 40-hour TESOL courses. Upon completion teachers will be awarded
the Certificate and License of Advance Standing for graduates of the
Master 100-hour course .
100-hour course is titled as the Master course and gives
full rights to a holder to teach in university and colleges, adults and
children. Their sphere of competence is not limited. 60-hour course or
Standard is basically for middle and high school teachers, although it
is up to an employer’s discretion to hire them for other duties. 40-hour
course is designated for teachers of primary schools and kindergartens
and mostly is used to be employed locally. The table below shows the
basic differences and the pricelist for the offered courses.
Important:
Number of hours in the header of the course DOES NOT correspond to
actual teaching hours. These are credit hours and the duration of the
course depends on such parameters as the size of the class, successful
academic achievements of trainees, number of modeling lessons they
perform, etc. The table shows minimum and maximum time limits for each
course. |

|
Q: |
Does the teacher have to pay extra fees to obtain
the TESOL License? |
|
A: |
Every teacher should pay $100 initial and $75 annual
membership renewal. This price is not negotiable as it is the
International TESOL tariff. It refers only to LAS.
LAS is in your package together with the
Certificate. If you decide to become the TESOL member with your
$1000 annual fees you will get 20 free LAS. In all other
cases you send in the information on your graduates recommended to
get the license and they will get it for initial $100 and annual
$75.

|
|
Q: |
Can the school obtain exclusive rights to practice
franchised services? |
|
A: |
International TESOL exclusive rights in Asia cannot be purchased or granted unless
it is known how you perform. In legal terms it is representation
rights and requires investment. Investment margin is decided by
Administrative bodies and could range from $50K to $200K. It
involves estimation of assets, equity, capital, shares, etc.
Exclusive right to use the certificate course and
resources also is estimated and ranges from $40K US to
$70K US.
Any exclusive rights involves a purchase of a whole company and its
assets for deployment in a foreign country. However, to do the same
in a number of countries may be more expensive. This issue can be
seriously discussed with the Board of Directors after deposit in
approximately 10% of the quote has been made. I think this issue we
could discuss at list in one year after we both feel and
acknowledged the need and financial status of this enterprise.

|
Q: |
Can
the program be conducted in one country and certificate/license issued
in another? |
|
A: |
As soon as you have
franchising, you can practice it in countries where you have business
license to operate as a school or company unless you have your own
online resources. Applicants from any country can apply to your
course and acquire certification. However, to have actual classes and
enrollment you might need authorization from the country where you
conduct business. We suggest that you have affiliation or a sister
company in other countries that holds the local business registration or
register your school there. Please note that you have authority from us
to use the course, as it is recognized and issue certificate and
licenses upon graduation, but we do not have authority to register your
business in the country where we do not operate. We have our online
course for applicants from any country but we pay taxes in the USA as we
are registered there. I suggest consulting representatives of other
countries on the issue. Our accreditation and franchising has nothing to
do with the legal establishment of the organization in other countries
rather than USA. |

Q: |
Will we be able to
advertise our name through the franchising? |
|
A: |
You will have the
complete course in your possession under conditions that you will
respect the copyright ownership and will not market it under your name.
To avoid misunderstandings, we will include your name as accredited
course provider on the Certificate and LAS and keep your schools
information in our member database for the verification purposes.
However, you will have rights to use our logo and stationary together
with yours. Also, you will have your own website on our server which we
will regularly promote. |

|
Q: |
Do you mean that we can
only issued up to maximum of 25 licenses? We plan to set up more TESOL centres in our country and abroad, hence 25 licenses may not be
sufficient.
|
|
A: |
You have no problems to
train as many teachers as you enroll and issue the certificate and
license upon graduation. Each package comes with 25 certificates and
rights to issue 25 licenses. Please note that licenses cannot be granted
without certificates. Certificate is the proof of qualification, while
license is attachment to the certificate that the holder meets
internationally set standards in teaching. If you issue the license
only, it would be like giving the driving license to a person who has
never seen an automobile in his life. As for the fees for the package,
you get the first one for initial payment of $1699 US and every other
package of the kind will cost $599 US. You could use this schedule for
your subdivisions too. Let me put it this way, the very first time fee
to start your business is $1699 and every time you need other packages
like this one will cost you $599 US. If your subdivision (affiliations)
carries your name you could use $599 for each of them too. However, if
you establish a new company, they will need to start with $1699 initial
payment and purchase every additional package for $599. |

Q: |
According to the
franchising policy we will be issued only 1 course DVD and 1 digital
compilation. What if we have more trainees eligible for these
resources? |
|
A: |
Each of these CDs can be
reproduced as we will unprotect them for you. Therefore, you will be
able to make as many copies as you wish. However, we ask to respect
copyright ownership and consult us if you plan to use it for commercial
purposes. All these CDs you are supposed to be include in a graduation
package of your trainees. According to our agreement you may not change
the contents without consulting us. All suggestions will be taken into
account should you have some. |

We are not authorized to send certificate samples unless we have
commitment of cooperation. |

|
|
Q: |
Will we be able to set
the amount of tuition fees for our trainees? |
|
A: |
The course consists of 3 categories:
Master course (100 credit hours), Standard course (60 credit ours)
and Junior course (40 credit hours which is not eligible for the
License). It is up to you how you would shape up pricelist for each
of them. It is expected that all your Master and Standard
course graduates will get (please consult the eligibility table
above):
a. Course installation and offline CDs
b. Transcript
c. "Peace Envoy" recommendation letter
d. Certificate
c. License of Advance Standing (LAS)
As you set your pricing policy based on
your market, it is up to your judgment what to give and for how
much including the Certificate and License. This will be your
business and we could only consult you on this issue.

|
Q: |
What about the forms of
payment? |
|
A: |
None of your
trainees will have to pay us any fees unless you wish so. You ONLY need to submit your
franchising fees as scheduled. All fees stated above we will accept only
from your authorized personnel. Regarding the form of payment, should
you choose one we will advice the more convenient ways of submission. We
accept credit cards, International drafts, corporate checks... in
accordance with our taxation regulations. However, if you choose other
forms of payment such as Western Union or Bank wire, we will suggest to
use personal accounts of our director or one of representatives either
in Europe or Asia.
